Year B 2018/9
Autumn term's topic of the Romans lends itself well to practical and 3D projects for Designing and making, so there will be a focus on design and technology this term in this area of the curriculum.
This term's rain forest topic allows lots of opportunities to use bright, vibrant colours in our artwork. We will use ink, pastels, oil pastels, paints and tissue paper to create lots of different pictures. we will use our own style as well as looking at the work of Some famous artists such as Oenone Hammersley and Henri Rousseau. We will also have the opportunity to use clay to create 3D sculptures.
Year A 2017/18
This term our art will be based on our Topic. We will reproduce art in the style of paintings found in caves, we will use found materials to help us paint and try to find natural materials to make colours and dyes. We will make tools from clay to replicate those used in the stone age.
This term our art is varied and follows our topic work on different decades from 1910's to the 1990's. We will work in the styles of significant artists, and designers, such as:
This term in art we will look at the works of two very different landscape artists and complete work using similar styles and techniques.
We will use painting and sketching techniques for the David Hockney unit of work and printing techniques for the Hokusai unit.
