In English we will be using a range of stories and visual literacy clips which have cross curricular links to the Geography and Science topics this term. The children will be focusing on using capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and writing in full sentences. We will also be looking at using adjectives and expanded noun phrases and the children will be practicing their cursive writing.
In maths the children will be learning about place value and addition and subtraction.
In geography we will be learning about the weather and we will look at how the weather is different in different parts of the world. The children will be looking at hot and cold countries.
In science we will be learning about the seasons and seasonal changes. The children will also be learning about different types of clouds.
The art activities this term will be cross curricular and link to the weather and seasonal changes topics.
The children will be learning about Christianity and God.
The music activities this term will be based around body percussion, finding the pulse, tapping and continuing a pattern, making their own patterns for others to copy and identifying the sounds different instruments make.
We will begin by discussing E-safety and how to stay safe on the internet.
We will be focusing on basic movement skills- running and jumping on the playground and throwing and catching skills using our own tennis balls. The children will consider why we warm up and how exercise affects our bodies.
