General - but important - information

Our aims:

At school we should:

  • Take responsibility for our own learning
  • Use every opportunity to learn lots of 'stuff'!
  • Work considerately with classmates
  • Make sure we have remembered all equipment needed for the day (PE kit, books, etc)
  • Be good role models

At home we should:

  • Read a substantial amount every day (some of it aloud to an adult at least 4 times a week to develop fluency, use of punctuation and comprehension)
  • Practise multiplication facts (times tables) every day
  • Complete homework tasks to a very high standard ready to return them to school by the due date
  • Practise spellings regularly

Please support our work on reading by listening to your child read at least 4 times a week. To develop this further, please spend time discussing the text with your child so that they have as many opportunities as possible to develop vital comprehension skills.

P.E. sessions are on Tuesday and Friday each week. Children will need to have their kits in school all week to enable P.E. sessions to take place on an alternative day should the need arise.

Please remember that a complete change of clothes is needed in line with the schools P.E. policy.
