Welcome to Fox Class. We are a class of Year 5 children who are taught by Miss Mumby. We are helped by Mrs. Oxley and Miss. Ferguson.
This page is where you can find important information, as well as updates of the fun things we are getting up to in class.
We are part of UKS2 and therefore learn closely with the rest of Year 5 and 6 in Kestrel and Kingfisher Class. PE is on Tuesday and Thursday. Please come to school wearing your PE kit on these days and dressed appropriately for the weather should we be outside.
Children will practise the statutory spellings in class and they will be available to view on dojo from Monday but no formal spelling test will be administered. Homework will be given out on Fridays and will be due in the following Thrusday. If you need any extra support with homework please send a message or ask your child to come speak to us and we can provide them with extra support.
If you need to contact us directly, please use the contact form above or contact the class page directly on ClassDojo.

Fox, Kestrel and Kingfisher Class Newsletter – Autumn Term 2 2025
A huge warm welcome back! The beginning of the festive period will soon be upon us, and we will be hosting our 5th UKS2 ran Christmas market 2025.
We will also be welcoming Mrs Sheardown (Miss Houldridge) back into Kestrel where she is doing some Keeping in Touch Days before she returns full time on 1st December.
Autumn 1 highlights
We all went to the International Bomber Command centre in Lincoln, where we learnt about the sacrifices and commitment of the men and women who came together in WWII. Some children across year 5 and 6 took part in various sporting events such as the football tournament at Caistor and the Gainsborough schools cross country event.
Reminders for Autumn Term 2025
Each day, children will need suitable uniform according to the weather, water bottles containing water only and healthy snacks for break. The children will not need to bring in additional stationery or pencil cases as this equipment will be provided. Please be reminded that toys should be left at home. PE for Kingfisher and Fox will be on Monday and Tuesday and PE for Kestrel will be on Monday and Friday. Children are to come to school in their PE kit and trainers on these days to avoid the need to change in school.
Class Dojo is still being used to communicate with parents and there is a contact the teacher form on the class page on the website for you to be able to contact us directly.
