Autumn 2

We hope you have had an enjoyable and restful half term break.

We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 2nd November for a busy second half of Autumn term with lots of fun and learning.

Highlights of Autumn 1

The roman coming into school to experience real life activities. A visit to the church to look more deeply at baptism in our local area. Creating our dances and building on our basketball skills and settling into our new year group! How has a term gone already?

Reminders Children should bring a drink of water to school in a named bottle. Please

ensure that any clothing is named – then it can be returned to your child should it be lost. Any break time snacks should be healthy ones please.

Please remember that children are not allowed to bring toys to school, this includes trading cards or stickers – it causes upset if they are lost or broken. Could we also please ask that fidgets are not brought into school without prior agreement with the class teacher. These are causing distraction in lessons rather than helping children to focus. We have a range of whole class, small group and individual regulation strategies and tools in place across the school.

Reading Record cards are due in each Friday for BADGER and MONDAY in HEDGEHOG class so teachers can log the number of reads each child has achieved. Children are expected to read at least 4 times a week at home. Any children who manage this every week for the term will be entered into the reading prize draw at the end of term. Homework handed on a Friday due in for the Friday after.

Allergies

Due to changes in our allergy policy, any food brought in from home must have a full list of ingredients shared with the school in advance. This will help us ensure the safety and well-being of the children. Any birthday treats will have their ingredients shared on Class Dojo and sent home to eat.

PE Hedgehog – Monday and Friday

Badger – Wednesday and Friday

Some lessons will take place outdoors, weather permitting, please ensure appropriate P.E. kit is worn. All children should practise their times table knowledge regularly on TT Rockstars, each child has an individual login.

Class Dojo is used to communicate with parents and there is also a ‘contact the teacher’ form on the class page on the website. Please keep an eye on the class page on the website for updates and learning taking place in the class.
