Reminders for Spring Term 2 2024
Please can you make sure your child has a coat at school every day as the weather is so changeable and a sunny morning can often change to a rainy afternoon. We like to take advantage of our lovely outdoor area and encourage the children to explore and investigate in the fresh air as much as possible whatever the weather (within reason!).
Please ensure your child has a named bottle filled with water with them each day.
We will be sharing poems and children’s favourite books on Mondays, and on Fridays we will be celebrating children’s out of school achievements, so please send any trophies or certificates in on Fridays.
P.E. will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. Children need to come to school on these days in their school P.E. kit.
Reading diaries and books will be sent home on Fridays and should be returned on Mondays.
Homework will be set on Fridays and should be returned by the following Thursday.

Curriculum Focus for Spring Term 2 2024
Maths – We will be working on number bonds to 10, subtraction and patterns
English – We will continue working on grapheme recognition and letter formation; blending and segmenting the sounds we know and writing captions and short sentences
Science – We will observe seasonal changes and learning about how we can help to look after our planet
History – We will be learning about castles
R.E. – We will be learning about places which are special to different people
P.E. – In P.E. we will work on dance skills and we will be using the balance bikes
Art/D&T – We will be using various construction materials to create castles and completing seasonal activities
Music – We will be listening to, responding to and performing different styles of music relating to ‘Our World’.

As we have learned, the best made plans sometimes need to change. The above dates may need to be altered but we will do our best to communicate any necessary changes as soon as we are aware.
