Year group: Reception and Year One

Teachers: Mrs Pearce (Monday to Thursday) and Miss Garton on a Friday

PPA and Leadership time cover teacher: Miss Garton (who also teaches on a Friday)

Number of children in the class: 24

(PPA is time for teachers to plan, prepare and assess)

In Squirrel class there are Reception children and Y1 children. The class teachers are Mrs Pearce and Miss Garton.  Mrs Anderson in the class teaching assistant.

Here you will find information about what we get up to and what we are learning. 

P.E

Our P.E. days are Thursday and Fridays. On these days we ask that children come into school wearing their P.E kit.

Homework

Homework is set on a Friday and needs to be in by the following Thursday morning.

Year 1 Spellings

Spellings are given out every Friday for a spelling test the following Friday.

Y1 Times Tables

It is important that the children practise times tables at home to help with fluency (2x, 5x, 10x). Children can practise on TimesTables Rockstars. 

Reading

In order to progress in reading it is recommended that a child reads at least four times a week with an adult. Reading diaries need to be handed in each Monday.
