Curriculum Focus for Spring Term 2025
- Maths – Securing mental calculation, written methods in addition and subtraction and multiplicative relationships.
- Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRF)
- Year 3 I know the multiplication and division facts for the 3 times table.
- English - We will be focusing our learning around The Great Kapok Tree, describing the setting and rewriting parts of the story. Writing to Entertain, we will use the book as a stimulus, as well as texts similar to help build our writing .
- Science – How are living things adapted to their environment?
- Geography – what could be done to protect the rainforest?
- Computing – Can a camera lie? Can a digital device sense the environment?
- RE – How do symbols in the Bible help Christians to relate to God?
- PE – We will be focusing on hockey and Floor Gymnastics.
- Music – We will continue to follow our Charanga scheme of work; how does music improve our world? How does music teach us about our community?
- Art – How can I use collage to produce work in the style of Oenone Hamersley?
- PSHE – How can I make and keep healthy relationships?
- French – Children will learn I can statements and fruits in French.
