Curriculum Focus for Spring Term 2 2024

  • Maths – understanding and manipulating multiplicative relationships, coordinates.
  • English – A range of genres including writing to persuade and letter writing to Sir Edmund Hillary.  Our English is linked to our geography mountains topic.
  • Science – We will be investigating if plants really can live forever.
  • Geography – Are there mountains under the sea?  We will be learning all about mountains around the world.
  • Computing – We will be learning what branching databases are useful for?
  • RE – How does Christian worship and celebration build a sense of community?
  • PE – We will be focusing on orienteering and gymnastics.
  • Music – We will continue to follow our Charanga scheme of work – How Does Music Help Us Get to Know Our Community?
  • Design and Technology – We will be creating a picture using weaving.
  • PSHE – How can I make and keep healthy relationships?
  • French – Children will learn the verbs ‘to be’, ‘to have’ and ‘to live’ in our Ancient Britain topic.

 

Curriculum Focus for Spring Term 1 2024

  • Maths: – 3, 6, 9 times tables, 7 times table and patterns.
  • English – A range of genres including writing to entertain where we will write a character description based on ‘Smallfoot’.
  • Science – We will be investigating if plants really can live forever.
  • Geography – Are there mountains under the sea?  We will be learning all about mountains around the world.
  • Computing – We will be learning about the benefits of desktop publishing.
  • RE – How does Christian worship and celebration build a sense of community?
  • PE – We will be focusing on basketball with Coach John and dance.
  • Music – We will continue to follow our Charanga scheme of work – using our imagination.
  • Art – We will be creating ‘The Great Wave’ using printing.
  • PSHE – How can I make and keep healthy relationships?
  • French – Children will identify and say different foods in French.
