Autumn 1

Curriculum Focus for Autumn Term 2025

  1. Maths:

Year 3 – Adding and subtracting across 10 and numbers to 1000.

Year 4 – Review of column addition and subtraction. Numbers to 10,000.

  1. English – Children will explore a range of genres, use film clips and stills as a stimulus for descriptive writing, diary entries, historical leaflets and poetry linking with our topics.
  2. Science – Can animals survive without a skeleton? Can you step on your shadow?
  3. Geography – What is it like to live by the sea?
  4. Computing – How do I connect a computer? What is stop frame animation?
  5. RE – What does pilgrimage mean to individuals and communities?
  6. PE – Ball skills, fundamentals and hockey.
  7. Music – We will continue to follow our Charanga scheme of work. learning about how music brings us together.
  8. D and T – How does a lighthouse work? What does a healthy picnic look like?
  9. PSHE – How can I keep my body and mind fit and healthy?
  10. French – Phonics, shapes and musical instruments

Friday 26th September – Macmillan Coffee morning, 10 – 11:30am

 

Tuesday 7th October – Individual photos by Wrates

 

Friday 17th October – Online safety workshops

 

Tuesday 21st October – Parents Evening

 

Wednesday 22nd October – Parents Evening

 

Thursday 23rd October – Last day of Autumn term one

 

Friday 24th October – INSET days for staff – school closed to pupils
