Welcome to Fox Class. We are a class of Year 5 children who are taught by Miss Mumby.  We are helped by Mrs. Oxley and Miss. Ferguson.

This page is where you can find important information, as well as updates of the fun things we are getting up to in class.

We are part of UKS2  and therefore learn closely with the rest of Year 5 and 6 in Kestrel and Kingfisher Class. PE is on Tuesday and Thursday. Please come to school wearing your PE kit on these days and dressed appropriately for the weather should we be outside.

Children will practise the statutory spellings in class and they will be available to view on dojo from Monday but no formal spelling test will be administered. Homework will be given out on Fridays and will be due in the following Thrusday. If you need any extra support with homework please send a message or ask your child to come speak to us and we can provide them with extra support.

If you need to contact us directly, please use the contact form above or contact the class page directly on ClassDojo.

Spring Term 2 2026

We are excited about the upcoming term, full of fun and learning! A warm welcome to Mrs Lynaugh who will be teaching Kestrel class On Tuesdays after Easter.

Spring Term 1 Highlights

We had a visit from the Planetarium to enhance our learning about Earth and Space – it was enjoyed by all. We have also had many workshops including: Fire Safety for Year 6 and Healthy Relationships for Years 5 and 6.

Reminders for Spring Term 2026

Each day, children will need suitable uniform according to the weather, water bottles containing water only, healthy snacks for break, reading book and reading bookmark every day. Books will be changed when needed. Children should not wear jewellery to school apart from stud earrings.

Just a reminder that children will not need to bring in additional stationery or pencil cases as this equipment will be provided and that toys should be left at home.

PE for Kingfisher and Fox will be on Monday and Tuesday, PE for Kestrel will be on Monday and Friday. Children are to come to school in their PE kit and trainers on these days to avoid the need to change in school. Earrings need to be either removed for PE or covered in plasters that you can provide please.

Class Dojo is still being used to communicate with parents and there is a contact the teacher form on the class page on the website for you to be able to contact us directly.

Could we also please ask that fidgets are not brought into school without prior agreement with the class teacher. These are causing distraction in lessons rather than helping children to focus. We have a range of whole class, small group and individual regulation strategies and tools in place across the school
