Children in years five and six were tasked with planning and organising the Christmas Market. They wrote formal letters to local businesses asking for donations for the raffle and designed their own stalls which they were given a budget for. They had to think carefully about costs and potential profit. They also wrote to parents and the school community inviting them to the after school event.
It was a huge success, enjoyed by all and raised £1282 which has been given to the School Council who will then be in charge of gathering the voice of the children in school to see how they want the money spending.
