Today's task is to connect 2 clauses or simple sentences using conjunctions.
I have attached 2 word mats to help you, one for each type of conjunction we know about.
If you use a coordinating conjunction, each part of the sentence has equal weight and often both clauses make sense on their own. When you use a coordinating conjunction your sentence will be a compound sentence.

The other type of conjunctions we use are subordinating conjunctions, these make complex sentences.
Remember these connect 2 clauses, one of which is usually a main clause and the other a subordinate clause. Main clauses make sense on their own but subordinate clauses don't.
Here are some subordinating conjunctions for you to try to use.
