For our World War II project in history we were lucky enough to have a visit from Mrs Murry, who remembers her time in the war. Mrs Murry was 6 years old during the war and remembered black outs, the sirens, evacuee children, rationing and the effect the war had on her family. The children were in awe of what Mrs Murry remembered and asked a lot of questions!
We supplemented this with a library box full of historical evacuee artefacts. We were able to handle genuine artefacts, explore them and research all about them! It really helped with our learning and piecing the information together!
